The Ruach "Breath of God" Endowment Fund

The Ruach "Breath of God" Endowment Fund is one of seven endowment funds that support specific programs and services at Hospice & Community Care. The Fund provides spiritual growth and comfort for children and youth, in addition to expanding spiritual care components of bereavement support provided by the PATHways Center for Grief & Loss for patients, families and the community.

An anonymous donor initiated this Fund after purchasing a quilt at the Hospice & Community Care Auction. The quilt was created to reflect the experience and feelings of the children who that year had attended Camp Chimaqua, Hospice & Community Care's bereavement camp for children. For this person, the quilt symbolizes how children are comforted by bereavement support provided by the PATHways Center for Grief & Loss Coping Kids Program, of which Camp Chimaqua is a part.

The Endowment Fund is named Ruach, Hebrew for "Breath of God," which is depicted in a stained glass window at Swamp Lutheran Church in Reinholds, Pa.
