Women's Giving Circle

In 2004, twenty-four women embarked together on a philanthropic journey to create the Women's Giving Circle for Hospice of Lancaster County. Since then, the Circle—which has doubled in size—has raised more than $90,000 for Hospice. This endeavor provides interested women with the unique opportunity, through contributing to this pool of funds, to effectively invest in projects that will build and strengthen Hospice-related programs through the power of joint contributions.

The contributions of women from all ages in the Circle have funded or partially funded meaningful educational programs and unique services that enrich the lives of the entire Lancaster County community. These projects include:

  • Educational Program for the Lancaster County Medical Community on Pediatric Palliative Medicine & Hospice Care
  • Caregiver's Support/Educational Program
  • Handbook for Hospice Families
  • Children's Grief Conference
  • Adult Grief Retreat
  • Revised Teacher's Guide for the Grieving Student
  • Expansion of Music Therapy Program
  • Expanded Resource Library for the PATHways Center for Grief & Loss
  • "For Your Comfort" Bags for Inpatient Families
  • PATHways Monthly Bereavement Newsletter
